BeST Center Welcomes Avis Lyons

Avis Lyons joined the Department of Psychiatry as the Best Practices in Schizophrenia Treatment (BeST) Center’s administrative coordinator July 1. She came to the BeST Center after serving as the administrative coordinator for the NEOMED-CSU Partnership for Urban Health/Urban Primary Care Program (UPCP) for the past six years. Prior to her work with the NEOMED-CSU program, she was executive assistant to George Forbes, the principal for the oldest minority law firm in the State of Ohio. Born and raised in Painesville, Ohio, Avis now resides in Euclid. Gospel singing has been her lifelong passion – she has been a member of the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses founded by Dr. Thomas A. Dorsey (composer of Precious Lord, Take My Hand) for 46 years.
