Dr. Sheila Fleming Joins the College of Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy is delighted to welcome Sheila Fleming, Ph.D., to NEOMED as assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences.

Dr. Fleming comes to NEOMED most recently from the University of Cincinnati where she established her own laboratory conducting basic and translational research in Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Fleming received her bachelor’s in psychology from Northeastern University and both her M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology (behavioral neuroscience) from Arizona State University. She was a postdoctoral fellow at UCLA in the Departments of Neurology and Neurobiology and served on the research faculty at UCLA in the Department of Neurology. There, she used her training to develop novel preclinical testing strategies that include both motor and non-motor outcomes in genetic models of the disease, now the standard in the field.

Dr. Fleming will have a significant contribution in the growth of NEOMED’s newest research focus area in Neurodegenerative Diseases and Aging and as a valued resource to our teaching program in neuroscience. Dr. Fleming’s office and research lab are on the first floor of RGE.

Please extend a warm NEOMED welcome to Dr. Sheila Fleming.
