A leadership update in the Department of Family and Community Medicine

As the search continues for the next chair of Family and Community Medicine, the NEOMED College of Medicine has engaged a national search firm to help identify the strongest possible candidates. This step reflects a commitment to a comprehensive and inclusive search process that will ensure outstanding leadership for the department’s future.

At the same time, Thomas Macabobby, M.D., professor of Clinical Family and Community Medicine, has stepped down from his role as interim co-chair, a role he had been serving in since May 2024. The College is deeply grateful for his dedicated service and steady leadership during this transitional period. His contributions have been invaluable in maintaining continuity and advancing the department’s mission.
