A space oddity
What is a space oddity? A David Bowie song, yes, but it is also one of the weird and wonderful things you can find in offices, labs and other spaces of NEOMED.
What is it?
A basset hound figurine placed among other knick-knacks under the watchful eye of an Andy Warhol replica art piece.
Where is it?
In the office of Altaf Darvesh, Ph.D., associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences and psychiatry, on the recently renovated fourth floor of the RGE Building.
Why is it there?
Dr. Darvesh has an assortment of figurines and collectibles throughout his office, including the basset hound which he named “Lucy,” after learning that Jared Slanina, integrated marketing strategist, had a basset hound named Lucy while growing up (pictured below). Dr. Darvesh purchased the figurine at a local antiques store to add to his collection.
