A Tradition Continues! NEOMED to Reduce Operations Dec. 19 to Jan. 2

Dear Faculty and Staff:

Wow! It is hard to believe that we are already starting to welcome students back to campus. With the first half of 2022 already behind us, I want to take a moment to thank you for your hard work, excellence and support of everything we do. And as we continue to bring positive change to our campus, empowering all to ensure our students have exceptional experiences, I cannot stress enough the importance of our faculty and staff having exceptional experiences as well.

Much has been accomplished this year, particularly with our 2020-2025 Strategic Plan initiatives. New degree programs, health centers and expanded clinical, education and research collaborations have all combined with voice-of-customer initiatives and other strategic initiative fund projects to make our University a premier choice for current and prospective students, staff and faculty. And we continue to grow our campus diversity; empower employees with training; and improve our University operations.

As we are just beyond the midpoint of both the calendar year and our five-year plan, I want to thank you for all that you have done. Your commitment has been and will remain pivotal to our success.

The future promises to be even better, and in appreciation for all that you do, NEOMED will once again provide some time for you to relax and enjoy family and friends during the holiday season. The University will reduce operations for two weeks, beginning Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, and continuing through Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. NEOMED will resume full operations Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023. During this time, we strongly encourage employees to use four days of vacation or compensatory time ― Monday, Dec. 19 through Thursday, Dec. 22 ― which when combined with three approved days of holiday leave and four days of winter break leave, will give you a full two-week break.

Department supervisors will work with those employees who are required to be on campus during this period. Closer to the holiday, payroll will provide specific details on how to report all leave on your timesheets. Please contact human resources with any questions regarding eligibility or other details.

Please know that I am thankful for all that you do.

Sincerely,

John T. Langell
President
