Accessibility resources at NEOMED

Need help making your course materials and other documents accessible? Check out these resources shared by the Office of the Provost:

Updated Digital Accessibility Resource page

The University has launched an updated Digital Accessibility Resource page, which consolidates guidance, tools and training materials to support NEOMED’s compliance efforts. Bookmark this page and refer to it regularly, as additional resources will continue to be added. The page can be found at Accessibility at NEOMED | ADA Compliance | Northeast Ohio Medical University

MarCom is advising campus web editors to bring PDFs into compliance by first locating the original source document (such as a Word or PowerPoint file) and using Microsoft’s built‑in Accessibility Checker before converting the file to PDF.  If the original document is not available, Equidox and Panorama may be used to remediate existing PDFs. Web editors are encouraged to review the available the Equidox training.

Access to Accessibility Trainings, Presentations and Tools

As a reminder, all faculty and staff have access to the Institute for Teaching Excellence (ITE) Faculty Professional Development (FPD) course page through the Faculty Professional Development Course link (requires SSO).

The recent presentation from accessibility consultant Judy Risch, including the slides, is available on the Digital Accessibility Overview page within the FPD course, along with recordings of prior accessibility trainings.
