AOA Chapter Completes MedWish Service Project

NEOMED's Zeta Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor medical society held its annual service event on Dec. 17, 2022. The chapter partnered with MedWish International for a service event focused on providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Founded in 1993, MedWish International is a nonprofit organization that saves lives and the environment by repurposing surplus medical supplies and equipment to provide humanitarian aid to people in need. MedWish partners with health care facilities to divert useable medical surplus from landfills. They rely on help from volunteers to sort, quality check and pack all donations. They carefully match their inventory of surplus medical supplies and equipment to the critical needs of vetted recipients across the globe.

More than 20 NEOMED junior and senior AOA members came together to help ship over 500 pounds of repurposed medical supplies to provide humanitarian relief to Ukraine.
