Dr. Fassl has led several maternal-child health projects in India, Nepal, Tibet and other sites around the globe. His research is focused on reducing inequities in health care access and quality on a global scale through frugal innovation and quality improvement strategies. Since joining NEOMED in January 2022, Dr. Fassl has led NEOMED’s collaboration with health innovators in Nepal, India and Kenya who have taken on the challenge of finding cost-effective solutions for their health systems through innovation and social entrepreneurship. The public-private-academic collaborative connects health care needs at the grassroots level with social, medical, engineering and other entrepreneurs who explore new approaches.

Every month, NEOMED gives health care thought leaders 17 minutes – the average duration of a physician-patient visit – to engage medical professionals and students on any of the VITALS topics: Value-based, Innovation, Technology, Advocacy, Leadership, Service.
