Campus Kudos for the week of Dec. 15

Congratulations to Brian Butler, director of project implementation in the College of Medicine, who is the Campus Kudos winner for December! His name was randomly selected from submissions from across campus.
Brian was recognized for taking time out of his schedule to help a colleague in need:
“I walked into the conference room to set up for my monthly two-hour meeting, only to find the wall divider up and the room split in half. Right away, I knew exactly who to call—Brian! Even though he was in the middle of something, he immediately stepped away and came to my rescue without hesitation. His expertise, kindness and willingness to jump in at a moment’s notice made all the difference. I am incredibly grateful for his help and want to recognize how consistently knowledgeable and resourceful he is. Thank you, Brian, for going above and beyond!”
Additional Campus Kudos
Mirza Baig, Learning Center, was recognized for his flexibility: “Mirza has continued to help our office with staffing shortages during testing and we appreciate his hard work and flexibility and willingness to jump in and assist our team!”
Darcie Flower, College of Medicine, was recognized for her generosity: “She generously shared her harvest from her garden this year – zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers – and it helped to make a healthier summer for me She would leave the vegetables in COM free for the staff to enjoy.”
Rebecca Gernert, College of Pharmacy Office of Education, was recognized for her troubleshooting skills: “Becky helped resolve an emergency when a classroom was double booked. Even though she is not the Course Coordinator assigned to the impacted course, she leaped into action, found a new space, booked it, and communicated the change to students and the course director in a timely fashion. She is a great course coordinator who always goes above and beyond to make sure our classes run smoothly!”
Tami Lang, Testing Services, was recognized for her adaptability: “Tami works extremely hard processing the majority of ExamSoft reports for all four colleges. We appreciate her dedication (6 years a NEOMED) and her resilience in the face of new challenges!”
Tracy Meffert, Campus Operations, was recognized for her hard work: “Tracy is always pleasant, processes boatloads of work orders, invoices, and vendor documents. She takes calls from all over the University for problems that need to be addressed as well as just information that individuals don't know who else to call. GREAT employee & colleague!!”
Heather McColloch, Office of the President, was recognized for her work ethic: “NEOMED recently hosted Miami University's researchers on campus. The team had about two weeks to organize the visit, and Heather led the logistics efforts ensuring both the NEOMED and Miami folks had everything they needed for the visit. This is a perfect example of Heather's work ethic and contributions to the OOP and Strategy Teams. We could not do what we do without her support!”
Imari McGowan, Psychiatry, was recognized for her willingness to help: “Imari is always willing to help out her teammates. For example, last week the IC@N ECHO program coordinator had to attend to an unexpected family issue. When the program lead and facilitator needed to rapidly find someone to fill in, Imari was willing to pivot in the middle of her morning to cover the noon session. She helped that day go seamlessly and at a moment's notice.”
Katherine Miranda, Registrar, was recognized for her leadership: “Katherine CONTINUALLY helps out both in her own department and across the Student Services departments with taking the lead on several new initiatives, committees and too many things to count. KUDOS to you, Katherine!”
Gabrielle Nicholas, Pharmacy Practice, was recognized as a role model to colleagues: “Gabrielle has been a wonderful addition to the department! She is an absolute delight to interact with and she is always willing to help out. She is a role model for citizenship in the department and an asset to our team.”
Kaitlyn O'Donnell, Bitonte College of Dentistry, Simulation Lab, was recognized her positive energy: “She always has a smile and an infectious laugh, and has a way to make you feel seen and heard.”
Caitlin Squibbs, Comparative Medicine Unit, was recognized for her efficiency: “Caitlin has taken a leadership role in various CMU projects and has come up with and implemented ideas to make the veterinary care unit operate more efficiently.”
Jennifer Wheatley, Admissions, was recognized for jumping in to keep things on track: “Jennifer kept our processing area of the admissions department fully up to date while I was out for nearly two weeks for my wedding. She took the lead on responding to students in a timely manner and adding our newly accepted students into Banner, so nothing fell behind and I came back to a perfectly caught up office. Jennifer has learned so quickly since she's started here at NEOMED a few months ago and really takes on all the work as her own, with new ideas and great solutions along the way. I'm happy to have her as a part of my team!”
