Campus Kudos for the week of February 2

Congratulations to Akshith Dass, Pharm.D., Pharmacy Practice, who is the lucky winner of this month’s Campus Kudos drawing! Dass was recognized for helping to improve the student experience. “Akshith (AK) teaches in the P3 Pharmacotherapy Infectious Diseases course. He went above and beyond for the students this year - revamping the course - with new and improved lectures and practice Canvas quizzes.”

Shout out to more of our Campus Kudos honorees!

Aeriole Conner, College of Medicine, was commended for being a team player. “Aeriole is the kind of person who is everywhere all at once and never hesitates to step up and lend a hand! When it came time to feed 200 hungry M2 students, she weathered the bitter elements of the outside world to help Student Affairs retrieve an SUV-load of boxed lunches and then cart them over to Watanakunakorn. My grandpa used to say, ‘there's no such thing as a free lunch,’ and I can confirm now that it's true: it takes the tireless, and often thankless, work of great people like Aeriole to make it happen. Kudos for being the great team player that you are each and every day, Aeriole!”

Maya Deeb, College of Graduate Studies, was commended for keeping everyone up to date. “Maya does a great job in keeping our department informed with a fun looking monthly newsletter.  She makes sure to include the most up-to-date information.  Maya always has a smile on her face and gives a wave when you walk past her desk in the Provost's office.”

Erica Dovin, Strategy, was commended for her willingness to teach new skills. “Erica is always willing to answer my 10,000 questions about the strategic plan, score cards, and Envisio. I appreciate her kindness and willingness to explain things when I pop up in her office with questions. She also deserves a shout out for her Envisio Action Plan training that she recently hosted. She made Envisio navigation and the update cycle seem really easy and straightforward!”

IT Team - Anthony, Corey & Jonathan – were commended for their quick response. “I want to thank the team for saving me from myself when I clicked on a phishing email link.  It was really a team effort, but Anthony finally and patiently got me back up and running.”

Jeff McCann, Grants Accounting, was commended for being helpful and patient. “Jeff is consistently helpful if you're working with grant funds.  He is patient, especially for new employees learning systems and dealing with zero based budgets.  I appreciate his willingness to assist.”

Kim Stormer, Human Resources, was commended for her diligence. “Kim does an amazing job processing all of the tuition reimbursement forms. She first collects all of the grades from the closing semester and then collects, processes and sends out the payments to the schools for the tuition payments in a timely fashion. She definitely is a miracle worker!”

Taylor Szumski, Strategy, was commended for her organizational skills. “Taylor is like the peanut butter to my jelly when it comes to new ideas. Every time that I have a crazy, new idea, Taylor is willing to meet with me to review different project management tools, ask clarifying questions, and bring me back to an achievable reality with big ideas. As someone who lives more in ideation, I really appreciate being able to rely on Taylor to help me get my ideas off the ground in an organized and structured way.”

Stephanie Vollmer, Admissions Operations, was commended for her organizational skills. “Stephanie works very hard to keep all the student records moving forward from admissions to registrar. She also goes above and beyond to make sure her staff member has well documented procedures to follow.”
