Congratulations to Howard Sutton, Information Technology, who is the lucky winner of this month's Campus Kudos drawing. Howard was recognized for always being helpful. “Howard is always available to help out Testing Services (and we need him A LOT!) with testing laptops, network and our camera system. Thank you, Howard!” Another nominator shared, "Howard assisted with numerous ExamSoft issues from September-December and initiated the migration to our new login system. Thank you, Howard!"
Shout out to more of our Campus Kudos honorees!
Liz Backus, Strategy, was recognized for being a team player. “Mascot Nate was requested at an event, the morning of the event. There was not a MarCom team member able to fill the role in the timeslot needed. Liz kindly volunteered to "be Nate" for the event! Way to go, Liz, thanks for being a team player!”
Kristina Bennett, Admissions, was recognized for her organizational skills. “Shout out to Kristina for putting together an amazing rising student visit day for the admissions department! Kristina did such a great job organizing the registration, stations for students to visit, lunch for everyone, and keeping the groups on schedule. I was one of the tour guides and the students and families remarked throughout the day how wonderful the program was and how much they learned. We are lucky to have Kristina in our admissions department at NEOMED!”
Gregory Burlingame, Kohli Library, was recognized for being a team player. “Greg has been such a team player recently. He goes out of his way to help patrons and coworkers. His willingness to serve the University community is admirable. He hosted a very successful Open House at the NEO Regional Library Depository where he helped raise awareness of the resources and services that are available to everyone both here at NEOMED and world-wide. Thank you, Greg, for being such an integral part of the NEOMED Library staff!”
Kelly Burt, Registrar, was recognized for her collaborative spirit. “Kelly has been a tremendous help as the Strategic Planning team collects metrics for the Board of Trustees Strategic Plan Scorecard. Her willingness to explain data and collaborate are truly appreciated. Thank you, Kelly!”
Julia Colecchi, Marketing and Communications, was recognized for going the extra mile. “Julia went above and beyond helping me with a project. Julia went the extra mile plus and I am very grateful for her time and kindness.”
Kristen Cope, Accounting, was recognized for jumping in to help on a project. “We have been dealing with a much larger than normal backlog of reimbursements for students and Kristen had some time available. She came to me and asked if she could assist us and she has been a lifesaver. Many more students will be getting their reimbursements before year end than would have had she not been such a rockstar and jumped in!”
Luis Hernandez, Biomedical Sciences/Pediatrics, was recognized for his friendliness and support. One nominator said, “Luis is the laboratory technician in the Translational Autism Laboratory at NEOMED. As I have been getting acquainted with the lab in the last several months, Luis has been incredibly helpful and supportive. He is a team player who looks out for everyone around – from our undergraduate assistants to our fellow colleagues in the building. There have been so many times I have witnessed and experienced his desire to see it through that someone who needed help received it. I am so grateful to have him supporting me as I continue my program and fostering such an environment at NEOMED. He is an eager learner, as well, only having been here for several months himself. I believe he is everything that NEOMED would hope for in the personnel that work and study here.” Another noted, “Luis is such a hardworking laboratory technician who is doing great work to advance translational research. It is simply necessary to send appreciation where it is due, and Luis is beyond deserving of it. He carries himself in his work with great patience yet a desire to see progress and efficiency. This is such an important quality of research, and there is much to learn from him.”
Li Lin, Pharmaceutical Sciences, was recognized for her willingness to help. “She is a great research coordinator for our department, always willing to help with any questions and assistance we need with any equipment and protocol. She deserves a big shout out!!”
Jenna Morgan, Human Resources, was recognized for supporting collaboration and excellence. “I’d like to give Campus Kudos to Jenna Morgan for always going above and beyond to support collaboration and excellence in our work. She’s friendly, dependable and always ready to step in whenever help is needed. She makes every day at work more enjoyable. Thanks, Jenna!”
Gabrielle Nicholas, Pharmacy Practice, was recognized for her initiative. A colleague gave kudos for “taking initiative to start a new project to update faculty and staff composites and a log for our library of Pharmacy Practice resources.”
Jacob Smith, Campus Operations, was recognized for managing “the hardest job on campus” with kindness and respect. “Jacob has the hardest job on campus. He is on call 24/7/365. He answers equipment alarms and calls from security at all times of the day and night. He's always kind and respectful to EVERYONE! He deserves all the recognition he could ever get.”
Look for additional Campus Kudos each week in The Pulse.
