Campus Kudos for the week of May 4
Shout out to these recent Campus Kudos honorees!
Janet Coon, Office of the President, was recognized for supporting campus events. “A huge shout-out to Janet Coon for ALWAYS attending Staff/Faculty events! It is so nice that she takes time out of her very busy schedule to attend/support these events! Thanks, Janet!”
Craig Eynon, Office of Advancement, was recognized for going above and beyond. “Craig went above and beyond setting up a donation link to the BeST Center in memory of a cousin. It is clear to see why Craig is so successful - not only is he good at his job, he is also very warm and kind.”
Deanne Girard, College of Medicine, was recognized for her organizational skills and initiative. “Dee is deserving of recognition for the energy, adaptability, and fresh perspective she has brought as a new Administrative Coordinator. She stepped into a fast-moving and, at times, chaotic environment and quickly got to work stabilizing processes, restoring workflows to full capacity, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. Her ability to learn quickly, stay organized, and take initiative has already made a noticeable impact on the team’s effectiveness. With experience in banking, it was a safe bet that she'd lend her interest and add security to the team. This kudo is how I want to tell her she's checking all the boxes for this team!”
Shane Kardos, Psychiatry, was recognized for troubleshooting skills. “One of my new duties is to edit transcripts to assure accessibility in the YouTube videos we create. In one of the videos, I couldn't find the closed caption/subtitles to edit and thought I deleted and lost all the text to transcript. I tried googling solutions but could find anything. Shane came to the rescue. He innately started troubleshooting and figured out that somehow the language was altered and he fixed it. So, kudos to Shane. He retrieved the text and saved me from hours of recreating an entirely new video and transcript!”
Hannah Sisler, Learning Center, was recognized for help with onboarding. “Hannah has been such a joy to work with to help with onboarding student hires! She stays very organized and has made this process a lot easier! Thanks, Hannah!”
Brook Wyers, Writing Center, was recognized for helpfulness to students. “Brook has really stepped up to the plate this year reviewing CVs and Personal Statements. Students request her all of the time in order to have her read their statements. It is cool to see.”
