You are invited to the opening reception for the “Our Cultures, Our Community” NEOMED flag display project at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, in the atrium outside of Watanakunakorn Auditorium.
The NEOMED community continues to grow in our diversity, our uniqueness and our connections to one another. To build a community that is successful at transforming healthcare and resolving problems, we need to understand and appreciate the many cultures that make up our NEOMED community.
Join us on Monday to celebrate NEOMED's new flag display, “Our Cultures, Our Community,” which represents the countries from which our students and their families come and serves as a constant reminder that inclusion of people from different cultures and experiences in decision-making will help us to create a richer and enriching community life here at NEOMED.
This in turn will more effectively help us to overcome and prevent racial and ethnic divisions. An appreciation of cultural diversity goes hand-in-hand with a just and equitable society. We invited our NEOMED students to share their cultural heritage with us and 49 flags will be displayed permanently in the NEW Center.
Flags will be added annually as new students join our community. Our celebration also aligns with UN Day!
