Currently, NEOMED pays the premiums for term life insurance policies for retirees who meet specific criteria until the retiree passes away. The University has decided to discontinue this practice. As of Dec. 31, 2021, the program will be closed to issue, meaning no additional employees will be enrolled, but those currently enrolled – including employees retiring prior to Dec. 31, 2021, will still be covered.
NEOMED will work with the life insurance provider to maintain the coverage and update records as needed. Beneficiaries will be contacted if claims need to be filed.
