Changes in traffic patterns

A new location has been designated for Bio-Med student parking as well as parent drop off/pick up.

Beginning the week of August 11, Bio-Med will use a dedicated parking lot in the northeast corner of campus behind MAPCO/Circle K (formerly ODOT property). This change centralizes student bussing, drop off/pick up and student drivers in the same location, without Bio-Med students having to traverse campus. With this centralization, campus traffic and pedestrian congestion should decrease and traffic flow should improve.

The NEOMED community may be impacted by changing traffic patterns. Please be patient while everyone adjusts to the changes.

  • Traffic flow around the Bio-Med parking lot is one way, counter-clockwise.
  • Vehicles exiting this lot onto Route 44 are only permitted to turn right. Left hand turns onto Route 44 are prohibited.
  • A new intersection has been created by The Village, Building 2. This will be a mandatory 3-way stop. Signs will be installed.
  • In order to get Bio-Med students safely to the building from the parking lot, two crosswalks will be installed. One is on the University Circle hill heading between the Village and Route 44.  The other is less impactful and will be from the field into the parking lot by Bio-Med and the pharmacy.  Drivers must yield the right of way to pedestrians in the crosswalks.
