About Deborah Hayes
Hayes is the president and chief executive officer of The Christ Hospital Health Network, a $3 billion-dollar integrated healthcare delivery system serving 15 counties across Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky with nearly 7,800 employees and 1,200 providers since October of 2020.
Hayes has more than 35 years of progressive management and leadership roles, is board certified as a nursing executive and is a tireless advocate for advancing safety, quality and affordability in healthcare. Under her leadership the Health Network was one of the first in the country to implement a fully integrated EMR in 2010. She has expanded the network including opening four ambulatory outpatient centers and neighborhood centers, and opening Liberty Township Medical Center in 2018.
Under her leadership the Health Network has achieved Magnet designation four times, most recently in 2025, and continues to be recognized by US News and World Report, Newsweek, Healthgrades, Truven Forbes, Money Magazine and Premier as one of the top health systems in the United States. In addition, the Health Network has been recognized by Press Ganey with the Guardian and Pinnacle of Excellence Awards for exceptional patient and family experiences and by Forbes and Newsweek as a Great Place to Work.
Hayes started her career as a student nurse aide and ultimately became a critical care nurse. She held progressive leadership roles as a manager, critical care clinical nurse specialist, director of critical care, chief nursing officer, chief information officer, chief hospital officer and chief operating officer. Hayes is an active community leader, serving on several boards and advisory committees. She has held adjunct faculty positions at a number of Greater Cincinnati colleges and universities where she provides guest lectures or serves as a preceptor.
She holds degrees from The University of Cincinnati, Xavier University and Northern Kentucky University.
