As we move into the summer and prepare for a return in July and August, we wanted to remind students who may test positive for COVID, to follow these procedures.
Email covidreporting@neomed.edu if you test positive for COVID. You’ll be asked to fill out this short form so that our NEOMED team can give your contact information to Portage County Health Department. Please use your NEOMED email address when filling out the form. Do not use non-NEOMED or personal email addresses. And only email covidreporting@neomed.edu for reporting positive cases.
Please note that you are responsible for following Ohio Department of Health (ODH) guidelines for COVID-19.
Students: If you are unable to attend curricular or clinical activities due to illness, please submit the University Absence Form -- one link to make your college aware of your absence.
ODH Guidelines direct students who have tested positive to quarantine for five days. You can return to the curriculum after the five days, and you are encouraged to mask for the next five days. You do not need a negative COVID test to return.
If you are at a clinical site, please contact your site director for instructions related to the specific site where you are rotating. If you have been exposed to COVID, but you have been vaccinated and show no symptoms, you may continue attending classes, but you must wear a mask.
If symptoms start, please test for COVID.
If illness occurs that prevents you from attending your academic requirements (classes, etc), then complete the University Absence Form.
Stay well and enjoy your summer!
