Deadline extended for diversity award nominations
Nominations are being accepted for the Northeast Ohio Medical University Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion awards for faculty and staff.
The awards will recognize one faculty member and one staff member whose positions and responsibilities may not be focused on diversity and inclusion, but who routinely and voluntarily make diversity and inclusion a priority and manifest the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion into practical action. Nominees should be considered trailblazers with proven sustainability record and progressive change in areas of inclusive excellence in diversity. This can include but is not limited to: pioneering student or employee-centered initiatives including changes in policies, procedures, structures and/or curriculum; supporting the retention of diverse students, faculty and/or staff; assisting with or implementing diversity programming or other related initiatives; participating in diversity programming, community initiatives or other related activities.
Candidates should be nominated based on the specific specifications of service above and beyond the duties assigned to their positions. Nominees should also demonstrate, support, and carry out NEOMED’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Nominations will be reviewed and voted upon by a Diversity Council Awards Subcommittee.
The Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Faculty Award will be presented at the Spring Employee Recognition Ceremony.
