Dental dean discusses workforce issues with statewide news outlet
A recent article from the Ohio Newsroom spotlighted the shortage of dentists in the state. The piece noted that rural and economically disadvantaged regions are especially hard hit, with fewer than 10 dentists serving many of Ohio’s Appalachian counties.
Frank Beck, D.D.S., FAAHD, interim dean of the Bitonte College of Dentistry, shared his insights on the topic in the article.
“Oral health remains the number one unmet health care need of Ohioans for the last 25 years,” he said in the interview.
The Bitonte College of Dentistry was created to address that need. The College anticipates welcoming its inaugural class in Fall 2025.
