Developing Leaders in Global Health

The Global Health Graduate Certificate program prepares students to lead and transform health care in resource-limited settings.

While students in the program learn through traditional means such as workshops and lectures, the program also includes full immersion experiences in environments where care delivery is constrained by poverty and lack of resources. They also learn to understand the impact of economic, social, environmental and cultural barriers.

During the past summer, 16 students traveled to Kenya, Nepal and India for immersive experiences.

The Global Health Graduate Certificate program was developed to help students build a career in global and underserved medicine as they acquire critical knowledge and skill around frugal innovation as well as cultural, social and environmental determinants of health care. This knowledge is not only applicable abroad, but is critical when caring for vulnerable, marginalized populations in the U.S. and will help students to be become well-rounded professionals.

Application deadline for the certificate program is August 1.
