Don’t miss VITALS with Shelly Senders, M.D.
Shelly Senders, M.D., joins us for the next VITALS | Visionary Health Leadership in Action at noon Thursday, Aug. 8, via Zoom.
Dr. Senders will discuss "The Joys and Challenges of Independent Primary Care Pediatrics."
VITALS is NEOMED’s health leadership series in collaboration with University Hospitals.
Each month, we give health leaders 17 minutes (the average length of a physician visit) to address one of the VITALS topics: Value-based, Innovation, Technology, Advocacy, Leadership or Service. The presentation is followed by a Q&A with WKYC senior health correspondent Monica Robins.
About Shelly David Senders, M.D.
Dr. Senders, a Cleveland native with deep community ties, founded nationally recognized Senders Pediatrics more than 35 years ago. Since 2007, the practice has been based in South Euclid. What makes Senders Pediatrics unique is its multifaceted and integrated approach to health care. Breastfeeding Medicine of Northeast Ohio, its wholly owned subsidiary, is a leader in providing clinical and lactation support. Senders Behavioral Health is one of the only integrated clinical and behavioral health programs in Northeast Ohio. Senders Research has conducted over 300 clinical research trials in children and adults and has been responsible for the licensure of many of the currently licensed vaccines protecting our society.
Senders Pediatrics was one of the first practices in the area to be certified as a Patient Centered Medical Home, which gives families the assurance that all of their medical needs can be managed under one roof.
Senders Pediatrics also spends a significant amount of social capital in giving back to the community. In 1999, Dr. Senders founded Daily Dose of Reading, a nonprofit providing literacy training to underprivileged populations. For the past three years, Senders Pediatrics has been the driving force behind the Family Kindness Festival, a free community event attracting over 2,000 individuals, which aims to foster the concept of Have Fun, Do Good, Be Kind. As testament to its dedication to compassionate, evidenced-base patient care, Senders Pediatrics was voted the 2024 winner of Northeast Ohio Parents Magazine’s Best Pediatrics Office. This marks the seventh year the practice has been so honored.
A board-certified pediatrician, Dr. Senders earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and completed his residency at the Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He serves as a clinical professor of pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University.
