ABOUT NANCY GANTT, M.D., MAMSE, FACS

Dr. Gantt is a professor of surgery at NEOMED and the breast program director of the NAPBC-accredited Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, Bon Secours Mercy Health, Youngstown, Ohio.

Professionally, she focuses on inclusive, interdisciplinary care of breast disease and surgical education. At Mercy St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital she serves as associate director of resident education. She is the first vice-president of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and serves on the ACS Board of Regents Inclusive Excellence, Members Services Liaison, Research and Optimal Patient Care Committees and the ACS Patient Education Committee. She served as vice-chair of the Executive Committee of the ACS Board of Governors, and as inaugural BOG Diversity Pillar Lead. She is current chair of the Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) Foundation and served as president of the AWS and the Ohio Chapter of the ACS.

Dr. Gantt is a Chicago native and earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed an internship, research and general surgery residency at University of Pittsburgh Hospitals and Clinics.
