Emergency Management Plan

Did you know that NEOMED has a comprehensive emergency management plan?

The goal of the emergency management plan is to maximize human safety and survival, minimize danger, preserve and protect property and critical infrastructure, respond in an efficient and coordinated manner, provide for responsible communications with the NEOMED community and the public during and after an emergency, and restore normal activities.

The purpose of this plan is to:

  • provide guidance for the campus to carry out emergency functions to protect students, faculty and staff;
  • establish responsibilities necessary to performing these functions;
  • prevent and minimize property damage;
  • provide for interface and coordination between NEOMED and local authorities;
  • integrate and coordinate emergency response with municipal, county and state emergency preparedness efforts; and
  • ensure continuity of operations so that essential services may continue to be provided.

This plan assigns roles and responsibilities to departments and individuals who are directly responsible for emergency response and critical support services and provides an emergency management system/structure for coordinating and deploying essential resources.
