External Scholarship: Women in Medicine (WIM)

Women in Medicine (WIM), has announced three $5,000 LGBTQ+ Leadership Scholarships that will be made available to female or gender diverse medical students who have demonstrated an excellent track-record of LGBTQ+ leadership especially at their medical school.

The medical student needs to have been enrolled a minimum of six months at your medical school. Medical students who are the selected recipients of these three scholarships will be expected to attend the WIM annual meeting, which will be held August 23-26, 2023, in Suquamish, Washington.

The three scholarship awardees will need to be in-person at the meeting, and attend its session, as well as give a short inspiratory talk when they receive their award at a plenary session. Your medical school will also be recognized.

The WIM annual meeting also offers a mentorship program during the conference, whereby medical students are matched to attending physicians based on specialty interest and have several mini-meetings with them during the conference and hopefully long-term. Approximately 15-20 medical students attend the WIM annual meeting, representing students across the U.S. and Canada, often forming an important network that goes beyond the annual meeting.

Application deadline: March 15, 2023
