Fall Fest at NEOMED was a triumphant success with fall festivities throughout the week to celebrate the NEOMED community. Decorations both scary and silly, tons of candy, trick or treating students and neighborhood children, jack-o-lanterns and lots of competitions highlighted the week, which included cider and donuts, Trunk or Treat for the Rootstown community, the Pop-Up Pantry and lots of competitions.  We hope you all enjoyed the week-long activities sponsored by the Office of Student Services. 

We are excited to announce the winners of all the fun competitions during Fall Fest:

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Student Pumpkin Decorating Contest: Seven students competed via Instagram voting for bragging rights, and the top three spots were swept by first-year medicine students:
3rd place: Ali Akhtar
2nd place: John Wenger

Trunk or Treat

For the Saturday Trunk or Treat for the Rootstown community held here at NEOMED, our student organizations were judged by the trick or treaters for “Best Trunk” and $100 in student organization funds for the 1st place winner. This year’s top three teams all came from pharmacy!
3rd place: Lambda Kappa Sigma “Zoo Animals”
2nd place: NEOMED Compounding Club “Marvel Comics”
1st place: Student Society of Health System Pharmacists “Under the Sea with SSHP” (below) 


Departments and Offices Contests

During Thursday’s Trick or Treating, 13 of our NEOMED departments and offices competed for the office decorating and best costumes.  We loved seeing office staff work together in a very competitive but fun spirit of camaraderie. 

First, the Favorite Costumes were judged by our students and special recognition goes to our top vote-getters:
3rd place: COM Dean’s Office “Cat in the Hat”
2nd place: Learning Center  “Which Doctors”
1st place: Family and Community Medicine led by Dr. Belen, left, and Dr. Lee (below)
