Former NEOMED trustee Michael Schwartz, Ph.D., dies

Michael Schwartz, Ph.D., a well-known and well-respected leader in higher education in Northeast Ohio, died at 86 on Jan. 2 after a long illness.

As president of Kent State University from 1982 to 1991, Dr. Schwartz also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, which became NEOMED.

He also served as president at Cleveland State University from 2002 to 2009.
