Frese Book Collection on Display

NEOMED's Department of Psychiatry and Library Services have teamed up to bring the Frese Book Collection into the spotlight at the 2024 Drs. Fred & Penny Frese Lecture. Books are from Dr. Fred Frese's personal collection and were donated by his wife, Dr. Penny Frese. Frese Lecture attendees will be able to browse the collection and see Fred's handwritten notes inside the books.

Additional books from the collection are on display in the Kohli Center Library.

Dr. Fred Frese was a professor of psychiatry and taught at NEOMED students about his lived experience and had delivered more than 2,000 presentations locally, nationally and internationally in a career that stretched more than 40 years.

The 2024 Drs. Fred & Penny Frese Lecture will be Thursday, May 23 at 3 p.m. in Watanakunakorn Auditorium. The lecture honors the late Fred Frese, Ph.D., and Penny Frese, Ph.D., by highlighting the experiences of individuals who have successfully navigated schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses.
