From Provost Faison: Self-nominations welcome for University and college standing committees

Good afternoon NEOMED faculty,

The Office of the Provost, in partnership with the College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy and College of Graduate Studies, are piloting a new streamlined nomination process for University and College Standing Committees for the upcoming academic year. The goal is to improve the existing process by aligning both the university and its colleges’ nominating processes, alongside the faculty review process. In addition, faculty can access available committee openings and submit their nominations in the same location by utilizing a new web-based form.

Guiding Principles for Faculty Nominations:

  1. Membership terms are three years unless otherwise specified.
  2. All faculty members with a current faculty appointment may put forth a nomination.
  3. All nominations are self- nominations. This includes faculty who wish to continue their service on a committee for an additional term.
  4. Department chairs are encouraged to promote these opportunities to faculty and have them submit self-nominations.

Please refer to the following link for a comprehensive list of all available committee openings effective July 1, 2024. We encourage faculty to review and submit self-nominations via this form.

The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on Monday, May 6.
