Get to Know: Aeriole Conner

If you’ve visited the office of the College of Medicine, you have likely been greeted by Aeriole Conner, who joined NEOMED in June 2022 as administrative coordinator for the College.

A native of Champion, Ohio, in Trumbull County, Conner currently lives in Rootstown with her husband, son and “two pups.” She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University.

Conner recently responded to some questions for The Pulse.

What is your role at NEOMED? What thing(s) should people contact you about?

I am the first face you see when walking into our office. My current role is to provide high-level customer service to College of Medicine students, leaders and constituents. I also provide operational and procedural support to leadership roles, assist in special projects, submit reimbursements and several other responsibilities. People will contact me regarding reimbursements, when resources are needed, ordering for different events, to schedule appointments, help with different projects, etc.

Where were you before? What did you do there?

I worked for Portage County in the courts and Public Defender’s Office as a deputy clerk and legal assistant. A big part of my day was to keep everything flowing smoothly for the office. Working as a team with the attorneys, investigators and office staff was key to making our office a success.

What book have you read more than once? What brought you back to it?

I love the Janet Evanovich book series. They are fun books and I find myself laughing out loud as I read them. I enjoy situational comedy.

What’s your favorite movie? Why?

I love going to the movies. It’s hard to narrow down my favorite. I will have to go with Footloose as that is where my name came from. If I ever see it playing, I will typically turn it on and watch a bit of it.

What dish do you make better than anyone else?

My taco soup tends to be a crowd pleaser.

What’s your favorite hobby?

I LOVE planning parties. Birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, bridal showers, etc. I’m what I like to call a good “extra” when it comes to party planning. My mom instilled this interest in me. We are a power duo and my husband and dad steer clear when we are in party-planning mode! My husband blames not only my mom, but also Pinterest!

What is one thing about you that might surprise people?

I was born in Landstuhl, Germany, on U.S. soil. My dad was in the Army. We lived there a couple of years before moving back to the United States. I remember nothing but I have pictures and hear stories of when we were there.

You’re handed a plane ticket to anywhere in the world. Where are you going?

Anywhere that has an all-inclusive resort is good with me.
