Get to Know: Justin Foster
Unless you’re on campus long after hours, you may not have met officer Justin Foster, who joined the NEOMED Police Department in November 2022.
“I work midnights patrolling the campus either on foot or by cruiser,” he says. He also keeps an eye out for maintenance issues and responds to calls from NEOMED security and the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
Before joining the NEOMED PD, Foster was an officer with the Goshen Police District in Mahoning County. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Mount Union.
The Homeworth, Ohio, native recently shared more about himself with The Pulse.

What led you to NEOMED?
It’s close to home and a change of pace.
What do you hope to accomplish in your new role?
To protect and serve the community and the campus to the best of my ability.
What movie have you seen more than three times? What keeps you going back?
Twister and The Conjuring: I love learning about and watching movies with tornadoes and the paranormal.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always have wanted to be a police officer.
What’s the latest hobby you’ve engaged in? Why?
I love to play video games and board games. I’m fascinated with the game’s story. I love playing board games with my wife and kid.
