Get to know Melina McKee
Melina McKee, a student at Bio-Med Science Academy, recently joined the Office of Marketing and Communications as a student intern. She shared a bit about herself with The Pulse.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Northeast Ohio?
Originally, I was born and raised in the small town of Brimfield. I lived there my entire life up until this past summer, when my family and I moved to Akron.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I spend the majority of my free time working. I currently work at Marshalls as a retail sales associate. On my days off you'll find me with my friends, listening to music, or sleeping.
If you could turn into an animal what would it be?
If I could turn into any animal I would want to be a sea otter. Sea otters have always been my favorite animal because of how playful and cute they are.
Last show you binge-watched?
It’s rare that I find a TV show that I think is worth binge-watching. That is what makes the show Shameless so different for me. I was able to binge-watch Shameless without losing interest due to its humor and intense plot that leaves you wondering what else could possibly happen.
What do you enjoy most about being a Bio-Med Student?
The part I find most enjoyable about being a Bio-Med student is having peers from all different cities. This has allowed me to meet and connect with many new people that I would have never met if I didn’t go to Bio-Med.
What is the most interesting connection between Bio-Med and NEOMED?
The most interesting connection between Bio-Med and NEOMED is the shared campus. Going to a high school on a university campus opens up many opportunities that you wouldn’t get at your typical high school, such as this internship.
