Get to Know: NEOMED (week of Oct. 26)
We probably all know someone like this: You say good morning when you pass in the hall, you chat while waiting for your coffee order and you see them at University events and programs. But you don’t really know who they are or what they do at NEOMED. We’re here to help with the new feature, “Get to know NEOMED”! Periodically, we’ll share brief profiles of some new faces and some long-time staff.
This week we feature Julia Colecchi and Kelly Marsh.
Julia Colecchi
What is your role here at NEOMED?
I am an integrated marketing strategist in the Office of Marketing and Communications. In my role, I manage all of the NEOMED social media pages. I create content for University-wide initiatives and academic programs, collaborate with departments on marketing campaigns, write stories for The Pulse and Ignite magazine, and develop digital content that supports NEOMED’s goals.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
My absolute favorite part of my job is working with students to create content and showcase their lives while at NEOMED. I love getting to know them, hearing their stories and sharing their unique experiences.
In general, I really enjoy the creative side of marketing, finding new ways to tell stories, highlight the University’s accomplishments and connect with different audiences. Social media moves fast, every day brings something different, and that makes my job a lot of fun.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
On the weekends, I spend my time selling some very silly items at craft shows all around Ohio. I started The Chill Pill in the spring of 2024, mainly because I love making people laugh and figured I could do that more through my art.
It’s all about watching someone giggle at something I made, find a piece that reminds them of someone they love or tell me that they’ve been looking forward to seeing me at a show. It’s seeing something that existed as an idea in my head become something that makes another person happy.

What is your role at NEOMED?
I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
What brought you to NEOMED?
I have always wanted to work at NEOMED in some capacity. It’s a beautiful environment and I wanted to feel like a part of something much bigger. There’s such great energy here and so much potential.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is being able to help people. I enjoy meeting and interacting with our community and providing resources to those in need.
What is a fun fact that people may not know about you?
A fun fact about me is that my first degree was in fine arts and I worked as a freelance artist until I decided to go back for my BSN.
