Get to know Peg Dramble

Peg Dramble recently joined the Department of Family and Community Medicine as the senior administrative coordinator. She sat down with The Pulse to discuss her new role, why she loves Portage County, her current streaming binges and more!

Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Portage County. I was a 4-H member as a child, and my horse and I participated at the Portage County Fair. I have looked forward to the fair every year since; I love the fair food and animals. My husband, Darren, talked me into moving to South Carolina in 2017, but only lasted a year before I had to come home to Portage County and my family and friends. And they DON’T know how to "county fair" down there!

What are your main roles within the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM)?

I am responsible for the daily oversight and annual planning for the DFCM and Gerontology departments’ budgets. I also supervise the administrative support for the department.

What made you want to join the NEOMED community?

I have watched this University grow over the years and have always wanted to be a part of such a thriving educational institution.

What are some of your favorite things to do in Northeast Ohio

Arnie’s West Branch Steakhouse and A&W are my favorite area restaurants. My husband and I love camping, Harley riding and car shows in Northeast Ohio.

Do you have any pets?

I have two dogs and my fur babies have my heart! Fancy is an 8-year-old, 6-pound shi-poo-chi (shih-tzu, poodle, chihuahua). Tyrion is a 4-year-old, 12-pound shorkie (shih-tzu, yorkie).

What is the most recent series or film you watched, and would you recommend it?

Our thing is binging series on Netflix. We are currently watching The Blacklist, which is a little violent but the mystery keeps me watching. I really enjoyed Outlander and Game of Thrones; I like the "castle times"; I just wish there was not so much violence.
