Get to know Travis Grey

Travis Grey, Pharm.D., recently took a shared faculty position with UH Geauga Medical Center and NEOMED, where he will serve as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice. He shared more about himself with The Pulse.

What can you tell me about your career so far?

I graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy in 2017. Afterward, I completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania, followed by a PGY2 critical care residency at Buffalo General Medical Center in Buffalo, New York. After my residency, I spent four years at Saint Vincent Hospital as a cardiology/critical care pharmacy specialist. In 2023, I accepted my new position at UH Geauga Medical Center as an Internal Medicine pharmacy specialist with the shared faculty at NEOMED.

What do you hope to accomplish in your new role at NEOMED?

I hope to impact students by teaching at NEOMED as well as shaping future pharmacists with pharmacy rotations at UH Geauga to help prepare the next generation of pharmacists.

What inspired you to work in your profession?

I became a pharmacist because of my love for math and sciences in school and my desire to help other people. I thought pharmacy was a perfect fit for me and immediately fell in love with clinical pharmacy during my pharmacy rotations.

What about family and pets?

I am engaged to my lovely fiancé, Savannah, and our wedding is planned for April 2024. We currently have two cats named Tippy and Gracie.

What’s your favorite book?

My favorite books are the Harry Potter series. I have read the series multiple times and highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read it yet. The books are definitely better than the movies.

What is your favorite movie you have seen three times? What keeps you going back?

One of my favorite movies of all time is The Mighty Ducks. I just keep going back to it because of my love for hockey, and who doesn’t love a good underdog story?
