Get to know Tricia Babkoff

If you stop into the Office of the President, the first person likely to greet you with a warm smile is Tricia Bobkoff. The Pulse recently sat down with Tricia to get to know one of the newest members of the NEOMED community!

Why did you want to become part of the NEOMED community?

I have always enjoyed the medical field as I was certified as a medical assistant and phlebotomist in my much younger years. After taking a position at Kent State University, I grew to have a passion for higher education. When I found the position here at NEOMED, I thought it was a perfect fit and the best of both worlds, so to speak. I am very happy and humbled to be here.

What will be your primary responsibilities in your new role?

My primary responsibilities will be managing administrative needs in the Office of the President. I will particularly be assisting the president, Dr. John T. Langell, as well as, Mary Taylor, the VP of Operations and Finance.

Are you originally from Northeast Ohio?

I was born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, where I currently still reside with my husband, Brian, and 17-year-old son, Jaydon.

What are you most excited about in your first year at NEOMED?

In my first year at NEOMED, I am most excited to interact with the staff and faculty and learn more about all the programs that are offered to our students.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

I am very family-oriented, so spending time with my family is certainly one of my favorite things to do. My favorite thing is watching my son play football. I also enjoy hikes with my dog and traveling with my husband.

Where’s your favorite place to spend time in Northeast Ohio?

I am a huge fan of music and love attending outdoor music venues in the summer. A few of my favorite venues include Blossom Music Center, Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica, and Cuyahoga Falls Downtown Amphitheater. I also enjoy hiking with my dog at several trails in Northeast Ohio, with the Ledges in Cuyahoga Valley National Park being one of my favorites.
