Giving Day is like the proverbial snowball effect: Once it gets going, it builds upon itself, increasing not only in size but also in its ability to make things happen.
Six years ago, NEOMED started our first Giving Day. That first day and each year’s 24 hours of giving that followed have celebrated the largest single days of giving to our annual fund, the Blue Fund.
But the significance of our Giving Day doesn’t end with the annual fund.
With the support of Huntington Bank’s matching gifts each year, Giving Day realizes increased engagement from supporters, many of whom become regular contributors to NEOMED programs and events. From increasing financial support of students to establishing events such as those with prospective donors who get to meet our nationally renowned researchers, Giving Day makes it happen.
Many of the events that happen as a result of Giving Day have led to larger initiatives such as Education for Service scholarships, the establishment of our Neurodegenerative Disease and Aging research focus area, and gifts that helped us exceed the goal for our $40 million comprehensive campaign.
This year, our 24 hours of giving begins at noon March 6 and continues through 11:59 a.m. March 7.
Huntington Bank will be back again this year! It will donate $120 for every unique donor — up to a total of 300 donors.
Please help NEOMED Giving Day make it happen. As a donor, you will be recognized with a personalized (or if you prefer, anonymous) puzzle piece. We need to average a little more than a donor every five minutes to complete the puzzles representing 300 connected donors who made it happen on Giving Day.
You can see the puzzles come together in the atrium located outside the Watanakunakorn Auditorium. Each puzzle piece will be entered in a raffle drawing for special prizes.
