Giving Day Boosts NEOMED’s Blue Fund

The NEOMED community came together for the 2022 Giving Day, continuing to help the University create transformational leaders.

During the successful 24-hour event, which ran from noon, Wednesday, March 16, through noon, Thursday, March 17, a total of $158,766 was raised for the Blue Fund. This was the second-largest Giving Day total since the annual tradition began in 2014. The total came from 233 donors and a matching gift of $35,000 from Huntington Bank.

“We are extremely grateful for all of our donors, and all the members of our community who advocated for NEOMED and shared how we create transformational leaders,” said Craig Eynon, director of alumni relations.

One Giving Day supporter was Teresa Whetstone, a second-year medicine student who led her classmates in advocating for the Blue Fund. Whetstone talked with faculty and staff at the Campus Update on March 16 about how she benefits as a future physician from participating in NEOMED programs like the Student-Run Free Clinic.
