In the News: Anibelky Almanzar, M.D. (’22), Discusses Diversity

Alumna Anibelky Almanzar, M.D. (’22), shared her passion for diversity in the health fields in a recent interview with Spectrum News 1.

Dr. Almanzar, an internal medicine resident at MetroHealth, estimates more than half of her patients on any given day are Spanish speaking.

“When they hear me speak in Spanish, they’re surprised. They’re like ‘oh hablas Español.’ You speak Spanish. And that makes them very, very happy," Almanzar said in the interview. "They just smile and they feel more at ease. It’s almost a relief that I speak Spanish."
