Joseph Marchiano recognized by ASHP

Congratulations to Joseph Marchiano, Pharm.D., R.Ph., BCGP, BCPS, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, who was selected as a recipient of a 2023 Pharmacy Practice Sections and Forums Distinguished Service Awards from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

Dr. Marchiano, who is also lead clinical pharmacist in geriatrics for Summa Health System, will receive the New Practitioners Forum award from ASHP. He will be recognized along with honorees from across the country during the 58th ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in Anaheim in December.

His journey with ASHP started at Ohio Northern University, where he led the student chapter as president. Upon graduating in 2019, he extended his involvement nationally, taking on diverse roles and acting as a liaison to foster collaborative environments within the organization. He joined NEOMED as a second-year pharmacy resident in 2020.

The ASHP awards recognize members for their outstanding volunteer service that has supported the mission of their section or forum and helped advance the profession of pharmacy.

While national recognition is always fulfilling, Dr. Marchiano notes, “The true reward is being able to help people.”

Congratulations, Dr. Marchiano!
