Julie Aultman Named Vice Dean, College of Graduate Studies

Members of the NEOMED Community –

I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Julie M. Aultman, Ph.D., as the new vice dean for the College of Graduate Studies (COGS) effective September 1, 2021. Dr. Aultman will replace Christian Ritter, Ph.D., in this role. Dr. Ritter served as Vice Dean of COGS from 2016-2021 and is retiring from the University.

Dr. Aultman has been an enthusiastic supporter of graduate education at NEOMED. In the position of vice dean, Dr. Aultman will have important academic and strategic roles in supporting the current portfolio of graduate programs, in addition to contributing to the vision for new graduate program offerings. A key priority for Dr. Aultman will be the focus upon the exceptional student experience and student success. In addition, Dr. Aultman will represent NEOMED on the Chancellor’s Council for Graduate Studies (CCGS), a committee of the Ohio Department of Higher Education.

In the absence of the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies from the University, Dr. Aultman will function as the chief academic and strategic officer of the College of Graduate Studies.

Dr. Aultman is currently a professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the program director for the Medical Ethics and Humanities graduate program. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Aultman on her new role as vice dean of the College of Graduate Studies.
