Kristin Knepp, Ph.D., selected as a STFM New Faculty Scholar

Kristen A. Knepp, Ph.D., assistant professor of Family and Community Medicine, has been selected as a 2024 STFM New Faculty Scholar from the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. This highly competitive program recognizes outstanding leadership potential and a commitment to academic family medicine. According to STFM, the New Faculty Scholar Program includes some of the best and brightest new faculty across the country. Only 14 individuals were selected for 2024.

Since its inception in 1988, this program has supported new faculty as a beneficial way to develop leaders and leadership skills.

The program includes:

  • A year of coaching, learning and networking opportunities both with senior leadership and other new faculty,
  • Regular virtual sessions on a variety of issues related to scholarship that provide training throughout the program, and
  • An expectation to present at the 2024 STFM Annual Spring Conference. Registration and expenses up to $1,000 funded by the STFM Foundation.

Dr. Knepp will present: Pilot Testing of a Weight Stigma Reduction Program for Medical Students at the 2024 STFM Annual Spring Conference, on May 4-8, 2024, in Los Angeles.
