'Legacy' students celebrated on Match Day

On Friday, March 20, legacy students and their alumni family members gathered in the Fireplace Lounge of the NEW Center for the inaugural NEOMED Match Day Legacy Lounge, a celebratory breakfast held in their honor before the excitement of Match Day began.

Hosted by the NEOMED Alumni Association, the event brought together families who share a unique and lasting connection to the University, whether through a parent, grandparent, sibling or other NEOMED graduate. Guests enjoyed a continental breakfast, family photos to commemorate the milestone and the chance to connect with fellow legacy families before the day's main ceremony.

Brief celebratory remarks were shared by Matt Smith, M.S., Ph.D. '14, '17, president of the NEOMED Alumni Association, and Dean Marc Basson, M.D., Ph.D., from the College of Medicine, who congratulated the legacy students on reaching this remarkable milestone.
