Library: Expect Delays as OhioLINK Transitions to New Delivery Service

We recognize that it has been more difficult this year to get library materials delivered in a timely manner, causing both frustration and inconvenience.

Because of these ongoing delivery issues, OhioLINK libraries, including NEOMED, will be changing our delivery provider.

There are two important points to be aware of as you plan for library borrowing:

  1. Before March 11, please request any needed items as early as possible because we anticipate that there will be delays. NEOMED librarians would be very happy to discuss your needs and help you look for alternate formats or other ways to secure materials that do not rely on this intrastate delivery service.
  2. From March 11 through the end of spring term, you will not be able to request material through the OhioLINK Central Catalog. This is necessary to avoid a backlog of materials in the system during the transition between companies.

Beginning April 18, we will return to working with the company that provided delivery service before July 2021, and we are confident that it will be able to deliver your library materials efficiently once again. But as we transition from one company to another, there will be slower than usual delivery times. We ask for your patience as we implement this long-term solution.

Our librarians love to help you find the resources you need; we’ll do our utmost to continue connecting you with those resources during this transition.
