The Year of the Tiger Arrives at NEOMED

NEOMED students know how to celebrate!

Karaoke singers hammed it up and hungry attendees lined up for kimchee fried rice, teriyaki chicken skewers, Filipino mango floating cake and more at the Lunar New Year Celebration Wednesday in the atrium outside Watanakunakorn Auditorium. To wash it all down: tall cups of bubble tea.

Event-goers could pick up a lucky red envelope or a goody bag with sweets stacked high on tables in the atrium.

True to the idea of celebrating prosperity in the new year, the supplies were abundant. Participants were invited to donate to Asian Services in Action, Inc. – described as the largest health and human services agency serving the Northeast Ohio AAPI community.

The event was presented by the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association in collaboration with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
