Many improvements made to the Meditation Room

Based on student feedback, the Center for Student Wellness & Counseling Services (CSWCS) has made some ongoing updates to the Meditation Room!

The Meditation Room is a peaceful, private space located in the Quiet Area, used to decompress and relax. Both students and employees are welcome to use the room! However, please be sure to adhere to all written notices/guidelines.

Some of the updates include a tabletop water fountain, a plant, lavender room spray, mats, sound machine, mindfulness/activity books, removal of the computer/desk, light therapy lamp, more utilization signs, etc.

Important:

  • There has always been a timer to turn on outside the door to signal when occupied, including an automatic electric sign above the door that states "in use." There has been some confusion regarding this, so we have also added a door sign (coming soon) to flip appropriately to "occupied" / "vacant." Please be sure to use both the door sign and the timer to signal use. This will help respect privacy, while being mindful to others of your usage time (30 minutes).
  • The massage chair was repaired in the fall and has been functioning properly since. There is also a separate neck massager available. (The massage chair is available to students only.)
  • Please do not remove any items from the room. Please be respectful of the space & clean up after yourself - keep it tidy! (Pillows, massage equipment, trash, turn off all equipment and more.)
  • We hope you continue to enjoy this space provided to you!

All items mentioned above may not be available in the room yet, but will be shortly.
