Meet Conner Wilson

Before the NEOMED Class of 2026 starts their journey, we wanted to learn more about students from this group. We invited them to share their stories. Here is one response:

Meet first-year medicine student Conner Wilson from Poland, Ohio. Wilson studied biology at Kent State University.

What compelled you to pursue a degree in health care?

I would like to pursue a career in health care because I believe that it is an amazing privilege to help others and to understand the human body.

Why did you choose NEOMED?

Because the institution offers a great program that is patient-centered and community-focused.

What specific career do you hope to pursue? Or where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I hope to be either an oncologist or endocrinologist!

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a veterinarian.

What is your favorite thing to eat and why?

Pasta is a dish that I enjoy eating a lot. Growing up, I came from a very Italian-American family.

What book or movie are you currently recommending to friends? Why?

I am currently recommending The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. It is very well-written and puts a cool twist on Greek Mythology.

You are handed a plane ticket to anywhere in the world. Where are you going? Why?

I would love to go back to Spain because I love the food, the architecture and the people.

If time and resources were no object, what skill or hobby would you pursue? Why?

I would like to learn how to ski better and possibly learn how to do tricks off a ramp.

What’s your hype song? Why?

One of my favorite hype songs is “3:15” by Bazzi. It has a nice flow to it.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I studied Spanish in college, so I would say I speak it well. I still have a lot to learn though!
