Meet Maria Newlon

As the Northeast Ohio Medical University Class of 2027 starts their journey, we wanted to learn more about students from this incoming group.

We invited them to share their stories. Here is one response:

Meet Maria Newlon, who begins her first year in the College of Pharmacy.

Hometown: Canton, Ohio

Previous institution: I graduated from the University of Akron, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and chemistry.

Q. Why did you choose NEOMED?

I am so honored to be selected for NEOMED's class of 2027!

I chose NEOMED because it seems like the perfect place to succeed as a student and future professional. While gaining experience in patient care, health care providers of all kinds encouraged me to apply to NEOMED because they saw a difference in their graduates. With connections to some of the greatest hospitals and health care facilities in the world and a supportive community of peers and mentors, NEOMED students have the ability to become leaders in the field. From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew this was where I was meant to be. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me and my fellow classmates!
