Thank you to all who came to our campus Mocktail Competition event in support of National Recovery Month!
NEOMED departments, student organizations, and community agencies came together to host mocktails, decorate their tables and show support for those who face substance abuse.
Our winner of the competition this year was HR, with its Flintstones decor and drink ("Cactus Coola: Prickily Pear Mockarita" with limeade, simple syrup, prickly pear syrup, club soda and lime juice).
An honorary mention went to the Industry Pharmacy Organization for its Schitt's Creek theme!
A few highlights of Thursday were NEOMED Health Care distributing 43 kits of NARCAN (a synthetic drug, similar to morphine, that blocks opiate receptors in the nervous system), and students having the chance to participate in anonymous screenings for mental well-being and gambling.
Eight total community agencies were a part of day, providing informational resources based on substance use/mental health.
