More than Just a Name Change

What’s in a name?

Change!

NEOMED has committed resources and personnel to advance its Strategic Plan initiative of faculty development. And as President Langell announced at the University Update Monday, Aug. 30, the name of the former Office of Faculty Relations and Professional Development has been changed to the Office of Faculty Enrichment & Engagement, with the goal of delivering development and support to faculty members throughout the entire span of their careers at NEOMED. The office also assists faculty with questions about policies that guide faculty processes.

In 2021, the office – led by Richard Kasmer, Pharm.D., J.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs and Janel Koellner, assistant director, faculty support, developed a multi-year plan to enhance program offerings and enrich the learning environment for faculty.

Initially, the Office will focus on development in the areas of teaching, leadership, mentorship and research. To learn more, watch for a main landing page for the website, set to go live Sept. 1.

And stay tuned for details on the return of the Master Teacher’s Guild!

Training Available Now

Launching now, the Office is proud to announce a partnership with Academic Impressions, a group that provides extensive online professional development resources specifically for colleges and universities.

An email with a variety of options for Academic Impressions (AI) training sessions via Zoom this month will be sent to faculty and staff. (Yes, it’s available to staff as well!) Keep an eye out, as the email will include both dates and login information.
