Nancy Gantt appears on Association of Women Surgeons' webcast

Women surgeons are increasing in numbers as a critical component of the surgical workforce. At the same time, women are the bearers of children and may continue to bear majority responsibility for raising children to adulthood. It is essential for the profession to improve support of pregnant and parenting surgeons through policies and pathways that promote flexibility and parity for all.

Nancy L. Gantt, M.D., FACS, a parent herself, offered her insight into this issue Tuesday morning during an Association of Women Surgeons' webcast titled “Pregnancy, Parenting and Parity.”

You can watch the discussion on demand on the AIS Channel.

Dr. Gantt, who also is chair of the Association of Women Surgeons Foundation, was recently recognized for her leadership by the American College of Surgeons.
